Serving as the first official visual off her 7 Days in Atlanta project, Gizzle drops the “Melanin” video today, a day most commonly know as Juneteenth, the day on which slavery was abolished in America. The Psycho Films-directed clip follows the artist as she interacts with two young kids and pours light, love, and encouragement into them with her poignant lyrics. Although simply shot without too many frills and whistles, one message is clear: in Gizzle’s opinion, the possession of “Melanin” is the equivalent to having super powers.
