This year, we’ve seen a number of REVOLT favorites shoot to the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their respective LPs. Namely, The Weeknd’s Starboy; Migos’ Culture; Big Sean’s I Decided.; both Future’s self-titled and HNDRXX albums; Drake’s More Life; Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN.; Logic’s Everybody; and Bryson Tiller’s True to Self.

(Additionally, the latest projects from Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers, Harry Styles, and Linkin Park all achieved a few weeks at the top of chart, too.)

Though congrats are in order for all the artists, there’s a glaring fact that can’t be ignored as they’re all men.

But Halsey has gone and broken that trend.

Nearly halfway through the year, she has become the first female artist to top the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2017 with her sophomore effort Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. Released on June 2—and led by lead single “Now or Never” and the Quavo-assisted “Lie”—the project earned 106,000 equivalent album units in its first week; 76,000 of which were in traditional album sales.

However, she may not hold the title for long as Billboard has reported that Katy Perry is on track to go to No.1 with her album Witness, released June 9. It’s on course to achieve between 200,000 and 225,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

The last woman to top the Billboard 200 albums chart was Lady Gaga whose Joanne LP debuted on the list more than seven months ago, in November 2016.
