The goal of REVOLT TV's 'Operation Get Home Alive' special

  /  06.06.2017

What happens when you bring together socially-conscious artists and activists who are doing the work daily along with young minds living it? An insightful conversation and town hall entitled Operation Get Home Alive.

Roughly 175 Black lives were taken at the hands of the police in 2015. In fact, of all the unarmed people killed in 2015, 40 percent of them were Black men, even though Black men make up only 6% of America’s population. More than 250 were killed at the hands of police in 2016 and here we sit almost halfway through 2017 with a no clear solution in sight.

REVOLT TV has been at the forefront of justice and a voice for those that have felt silenced. Supporting cultural movements like the ‘Justice Or Else’ march, Colin Kaepernick’s ‘Know Your Rights’ camp and many more were just the beginning as we are happy to present Operation Get Home Alive. The goal with this special is to have an open dialogue between activists associated with powerful organizations like Black Lives Matter & socially-led artists like Mali Music be able to speak directly with the youth.

Paired with extremely powerful visuals 17 and Soledad O’Brien’s Black & Blue in America doc, Operation Get Home Alive will leave viewers with honest gems for a more positive outlook for living in present day America. We gone be alright.

Operation Get Home Alive airs on Tuesday, June 7 at 7pm ET on REVOLT TV.
