Despite tough competition from Gorillaz’s hugely anticipated album Humanz and Mary J Blige’s Strength of a Woman, Kendrick Lamar once again reigns supreme on top of the Billboard 200 album chart.
In its third week on the chart, DAMN. moved an additional 173,000 units to give it another week in the Billboard penthouse. Of the units, 57,000 were in traditional sales and the rest were 12,000 in track equivalent albums and 105,000 in streaming equivalent albums. These numbers come in as the album was declared platinum last week for sales of over one million. DAMN. is now the fastest selling album of 2017. Kendrick’s three-week chart supremacy is a first for the Compton native. His last album to spend more than one week at No. 1 was 2015’s To Pimp A Butterfly, which peaked for two weeks.

Gorillaz meanwhile debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 140,000 units, which is the best sales yet for the animated band. Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman peaked at No. 3 with 78,000 copies, which is the singer’s highest charting album since 2010’s Stronger with Each Tear. At No. 4 is Drake’s More Life with 68,000 and rounding out the top five is Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) with 50,000 units.
