In what could eventually make him the Beyoncé of Migos, Quavo is having a moment. Since last year, he’s been plucked from his trio to appear as a solo guest on Travis Scott’s “Pick Up The Phone,” Kanye West’s “Champions,” Post Malone’s “Congratulations,” DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One,” and Drake’s “Portland,” as well as on recent projects from T.I., DJ Mustard, Meek Mill, and 2 Chainz. He also guests on Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman album, out today.
But in a less expected collaboration, the rapper has been chosen to appear on the upcoming album from indie-pop singer Halsey. (We haven’t been able to escape her for nearly a year, since she appeared on the Chainsmokers’ chart-topping, omnipresent hit “Closer”).
Led by the single “Now or Never,” the LP, titled hopeless fountain kingdom, is due June 2, and the two artists will join forces on the track “Lie” as the singer revealed earlier today.
But this isn’t the first time Quavo has stepped out of his comfort zone, nor will it be the last, as he and his fellow Migos members Offset and Takeoff just collaborated with Katy Perry on her newly-released single “Bon Appétit.”
