Last weekend, not a seat was empty at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for the Ruff Ryders’ 20th Anniversary Reunion show. DMX, Eve, Swizz Beatz, The Lox, and Drag-On all took to the stage to perform some of their classic hits, while Remy Ma and Fat Joe surprised the crowd with “All The Way Up” with Fat Joe and French Montana had the whole arena doing the #UnforgettableDanceChallenge.

Not only was this night a special moment for fans, Ruff Ryders member Drag-On spoke to REVOLT TV about what it felt like to be reunited on stage with his musical family.

“I’m home, I’m in New York, and it just feels good. You know, right now my mind is focused, I’m focused and ready to perform,” Drag-On said. “When they called me and told me Ruff Ryders is getting together for a reunion, man, I was excited. Ruff Ryders is family for life, period.”

The rapper also recalled how growing up in the Bronx helped him to fit right in with the musical collective. “The Bronx had a big influence in my life and my music,” he said. “Just as long as I’m representing the Bronx, I’m good.”

And Drag-On also wanted fans to know that despite being in the cut, he’s still on the radar. “I’m back now, I’m not playing, my bars not playing, I’m ready.”

Marking his first performance in quite a few years, Drag-On was more than ready to hit the stage. “I just want my fans to know Drag-On killed his set,” he said. “Everyone sees DMX, Jadakiss, Styles, everyone is working, Me, I’ve just been raising my daughter, I’m trying to be a good father, so that’s just what I’ve been doing.”

Swizz Beatz also stopped by REVOLT TV to talk about how he felt about the current state of music and what this concert means to New York.

“I think music right now is in a great traditional space. I love it, I love the challenges, and the music now keeps me sharpening my pencil.” he said. “I think people are more open to doing things differently; I might not say every choice is right, but everyone is trying so you have to give them their points as well. This concert means a lot. It’s good we get to see the past and present of music all together on one stage.”

What was surely been deemed as a night to remember, fans were able to celebrate artists all coming together to represent hip-hop in its true authenticity.
