It’s no secret that John Legend isn’t a fan of Donald Trump; he’s taken to Twitter to denounce the President’s #MuslimBan and has admitted to being “disappointed” in his friend Kanye West’s meeting with the POTUS.

But this is the most direct and public we’ve seen Legend be in his criticism.

While at the TIME 100 Gala last night (April 25) celebrating his being named a Most Influential Person, Legend gave his assessment of Trump.

Legend told red carpet reporters:

“I think he’s a terrible president. He’s manifestly unqualified, not curious, not good at legislating or doing anything that his job requires. He doesn’t have any depth about any subject. And he’s also using the office of the presidency as a way to make money for himself with his businesses, so he’s corrupt. I can’t say anything nice about the guy. I think he’s one of the worst people I’ve ever encountered in public life.”

It’s safe to say that, by now, Trump likely isn’t a fan of Legend either, but at least the singer’s got the support of his daughter Luna who couldn’t seem to keep her hands off her dad’s TIME magazine cover.
