In 2008, Jay Z entered a 10-year, $150 million 360° deal with Live Nation that, as then reported by The New York Times, promised to provide financing for the following decade for his recordings, tours, and endorsements, as well as for the start-up of his own entertainment venture. That venture would become Roc Nation, Jay’s record label, music publishing, and talent consulting and managing company.
Now that the contract is nearing its completion, a new agreement between the two parties has been made.
According to Billboard, Live Nation has confirmed that it has entered “a new long-term deal” with Jay Z and will remain “equity partners” in Roc Nation, meaning the two entities will “continue to operate Roc Nation’s management and recorded music business as a joint venture.”
However, the new agreement doesn’t seem to be an extension of the previously-made 360°; it instead will mostly cover Jay’s touring.
