Future already made history this year by topping the Billboard 200 charts two weeks in a row with FUTURE and HNDRXX, and now he has ridden a viral sensation to another career high.

“Mask Off,” the single from his self-titled album, has reached no. 7 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart – making the song his first top 10 single. As 2DopeBoyz points out, he has had plenty of songs reach the top 10 on the rap charts. But not the Billboard Hot 100, which covers all genres; the closest was no. 12 for “Jumpman,” his song with Drake from their album What A Time To Be Alive.

While the song is great on its own, its viral power helped catapult it up the charts. Just like the #MannequinChallenge propelled Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” to no. 1, and Migos’ “Bad & Boujee” was pushed by memes, the #MaskOffChallenge has given Future another accomplishment to rest his hat on.

There’s still more time for the song to gain even more steam over the summer, especially after his star-studded Coachella set and summer around the corner. We’ll see how much higher it gets.
