It’s been nearly a year since it was announced that Netflix would be developing its own series based on the 2014 satirical indie dramedy Dear White People. And today, anticipating fans have finally received its official trailer (see it below).
Like the original Justin Simien-directed film, the 10 must-watch episodes follow the campus life of several black students as they navigate racial tensions at a predominately-white Ivy League university, and the teaser doesn’t hold back.
In two minutes, the clip tackles white privilege, slavery, interracial relationships, and sexuality, with humor, while also showcasing both the characters’ candor and naivete.
REVOLT TV will be holding its own exclusive on-campus screening of Netflix’s “Dear White People” at Syracuse University on Monday, April 17. RSVP HERE.
