When Miami’s Rolling Loud festival announced their star-studded lineup back in January, music fans everywhere were excited to attend. And though the music event, scheduled to take place May 5-7, faced cancellation this past weekend, board members of the Bayfront Park Management Trust voted to allow it to go on as scheduled.

According to The Miami Herald, once the chairman of the Bayfront Park Management Trust, Frank Carollo, learned that Bayfront Park was authorized without the knowledge or consent of the Board of Trustees, he scheduled a board meeting to decide if the Rolling Loud agreement would be approved or denied. While board members held the meeting today, it has been reported that everyone voted in favor of a user agreement for the festival.

If the decision made took the opposite turn, millions of dollars would’ve been lost as festival organizers had already booked entertainers and sold thousands of tickets. Corollo claims that the board’s executive director, Timothy Schand, is responsible for signing off on the festival’s contract and, due to the controversy, Schand resigned from his position on the board. However, he still stands by his beliefs that he did not violate standard procedure.

Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif made sure to express his excitement during a Periscope broadcast that took place directly after the vote stating, “We won! They not shutting’ nothin’ down. Ya heard? I feel like I got acquitted for a crime, and I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s crazy, we should have never had to go through this.”

Rolling Loud will include performances from Kendrick Lamar, Future, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Kodak Black, 21 Savage and many more.
