Kendrick Lamar fans didn’t get the album they were anxiously waiting for on April 7, but his warning wasn’t quite a false alarm – they’ll just have to wait one more week.

Based on the closing lyric on “The Heart Pt. 4,” the music world assumed that Friday, April 7 would be the release date Kendrick’s new studio album. But instead, fans found an iTunes link to pre-order the record before its official release on Friday, April 14. The album is the official follow-up to 2015’s To Pimp A Butterfly.

Still, revealed details are scarce. We don’t have an album title, song titles, or an album cover. All we know is that including the first single “Humble,” the album has 14 tracks – and knowing Kendrick, some of those may be multiple songs in one, i.e. “Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst.” A crafty Reddit user found a way to bring up possible producers and guests through composer credits. As is the case with his previous installments, “The Heart Pt. 4” was simply a loosie to whet fans’ appetites.

So unless Kendrick blesses the Net with another pre-album leak (we’re crossing our fingers), we’ll have to wait until April 14. On the bright side, you have more time to get ready for the experience.
