The Notorious B.I.G. estate proudly launches Biggie’s designer fashion label, Hypnotize, a nod to one of his most recognizable GRAMMY Award-nominated platinum hits in its moniker style and exceptional flair.
To give a little history as to why this is so momentous and to further explain why Biggie remains equally synonymous with fashion, we need to remember that he preceded a tradition of rapper-led fashion lines. In fact, he pioneered the trend with his trailblazing line Brooklyn Mint in 1996, which opened the door for countless other hip-hop luminaries to infiltrate the fashion world from Russell Simmons and Puff Daddy to Jay-Z, Kanye West and Pharrell.
Referencing personal favorite names such as Versace and of course COOGI, Hypnotize represents the evolution of his legacy in the fashion world, providing a new high-end vanguard. In addition, the logo fittingly conveys his image as the “King of Hip-Hop” with his famous crown-adorned likeness.
Fans and industry insiders were given a sneak peek into the new line during a full-scale cross-continental joint launch in New York and London, culminating at “Biggie Night,” where The Brooklyn Nets retired a jersey in his honor.
The designer label includes everything from limited-edition t-shirts, hoodies and bomber jackets to snapbacks, bags and many other accessories (see the Jose Medina-photographed images above).
More importantly, REVOLT has a sneak peek of the early sketches of The Notorious B.I.G. x Jordan sneakers to be released this year.
