Big Sean celebrated another no. 1 album in February, and the blessings continued this weekend with him receiving a prestigious honor from his hometown.

On Saturday afternoon, Big Sean was given the key to his city of Detroit at a ceremony with Mayor Mike Duggan. He commemorated the occasion with a post on his Instagram page.

“The mayor said he’s given it to 3 people…Stevie Wonder, Berry Gordy, and Me,” he wrote in the caption. “I’m the youngest person to receive this in the history of the city! Thank u for this monumental moment!”

Big Sean was honored for the work of Sean Anderson Foundation, a nonprofit organization he built with his mother to “assist in the education, health, safety and well-being of Detroit Area school aged youth as well as disadvantaged youth in other areas across the nation.” The foundation’s latest project is Mogul Prep, a curriculum aimed at teaching kids about behind-the-scenes jobs in the music industry. The program will come to Detroit Public Schools and other classrooms around the country this fall. Sean also donated $100,000 to the city of Flint, for people affected by the ongoing water crisis.

Aside from the foundation, Sean has always a staunch representative of Detroit with his music. From staying fitted in the iconic Detroit Tigers cap, to wearing Detroit Red Wings jerseys and doing the Blade Dance (a dance made popular by late Detroit rapper Blade Icewood), he’s always shown his allegiance to his hometown.
