50 Cent was announced as an act on Chris Brown’s The Party Tour, but fans of the G-Unit founder have disappointing news.

News surfaced on Thursday that he wouldn’t be on the tour, just one night before the tour was scheduled to kick off in Baltimore on Friday. TMZ published a headline that reported that 50 said “promoter couldn’t afford me,” but Fif says that’s not the case.

“I would never say my friends can’t afford me,” he wrote. “This run wasn’t handled correctly, I’m still on set filming Den of Thieves.”

The TMZ article is a bit more clear: they report that 50 and Chris Brown’s camps initially agreed on a fee, and that the companyLive Nation used his name on promotional materials. But that the number final amount offered to 50 was “hundreds of thousands of dollars” lower than what he wanted. He reportedly walked away from the tour two weeks ago.

Reportedly, venues won’t issue refunds for the show because 50 isn’t the headlining act. Hopefully those fans can still find someone to enjoy: the tour also has O.T. Genasis, Kap G, Fabolous, French Montana, and Casanova.

Meanwhile, 50 has released his first greatest hits album, The Best of 50 Cent, and he is still filming Den of Thieves, an action thriller that stars him and Gerard Butler. The film is scheduled for a January 2018 release.
