C-4 to your door, leaving speculation no more. Last night (March 30), Kendrick Lamar made that much apparent after dropping his new testament and video “Humble.” Holding court, the Compton rapper who prefers to be called King Kendrick, released a surly, multi-layered, explosive banger that once again set the rap world ablaze.

Kendrick Lamar commands you to be “Humble.”

Cleverly wrapping together the topics of money, sex, clothes and religion, the richly symbolic video and rollicking track features K. Dot once again reinforcing this train of thought from his Section.80 outro as well as reigniting the running rap debate about whether or not he’s talking about a certain rapper or two. On the topic of the latter, some fans believe the lines like “If I kill a nigga, it won’t be the alcohol, I’m the realest nigga after all” is a subtle reference to Big Sean’s “Blame it on the alcohol or blame it on sativa” on “I Know.” With rap being the competitive sport that it is, speculation like this is always expected.
