As previously noted, Travis Scott’s Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight is a solid release — by far, the rapper’s most solid release yet. With a collection of contagious records (“Pick Up the Phone,” “Sweet Sweet”), there was no telling what single would emerge as the flag bearer for the LP. But after Travis delivered an epic performance of “Goosebumps” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in January, it was clear. Months after debuting near the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100, “Goosebumps,” a collaboration that stars Scott and Kendrick Lamar, is now certified platinum.
With the brooding banger giving Travis his second platinum certification from the LP, joining the Quavo and Young Thug earworm “Pick Up the Phone,” the news is also a big feat for K. Dot.
The Compton rapper, who recently teased an April 7th return, has now earned his second platinum certification for a single. His first platinum card arrived for “Alright,” which appeared on 2014’s To Pimp A Butterfly.
All of this as the world closely watches Kendrick Lamar to see if a new album will cometh.
Last week, K. Dot released “The Heart Part 4” and shook up the rap world to its core with a tidal wave of rubber-necking lyricism that left fans wondering if shots were thrown at Big Sean and Drake.
