While the West Coast gets to enjoy Red Bull’s 30 Days in LA concert series every year, its Music Academy Festival New York has become an annual tradition for the East.

As a world-traveling series of music workshops, events, lectures, and festivals, the Red Bull Music Academy aims to celebrate sound and with its New York installation, the city’s heritage. This year is no different.

From April 29 to May 21, Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York will feature performances, tributes, and conversations at some of the city’s most unique venues from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to outdoor locations. Among the events fans can attend:

May 5 | “New Jack Swing: A Conversation with Teddy Riley “: The genre’s mastermind talks about his prolific career.

May 5 | “New Jack Swing: The Hype Dance”: With Just Blaze, Kid Capri, and Brucie B, relive an iconic era with legendary DJs and throwback dance moves.

May 6 | “Moodymann Plays Prince”: The Detroit house legend and Prince superfan plays a special tribute set to the Purple One.

May 16 | “Piano Nights: Gucci Mane and Zaytoven “: A throwback piano bar show from two of hip-hop’s leading lights.

May 18 | “ Solange : An Ode To”: A multimedia dance performance from the galvanizing artist at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
