The 2017 State of Emergency 4 concert went down in St. Louis last night (March 14) featuring high profile performers and surprises.
Headlining the extravaganza this year was Mr. East Atlanta himself, Gucci Mane. Digging through the crates, Guwop performed material throughout his catalog, dabbling in some work from Writing on the Wall to the comeback projects Everybody Looking and Woptober and more. Before he shut things down inside the Chaifetz Arena to the tunes of “First Day Out,” the Atlanta rapper was preceded by performances from Fabolous, Migos, Meek Mill, and more.
Meek, who was a surprise act on the bill, popped up to the stage to raucous applause. The Philly rapper rocked the packed-out house with bangers like “Levels,” “Litty” and “Dreams and Nightmares.” Other highlights during the night came when Fabolous hit the stage. The Brooklyn rapper, who was recently honored with the “Key to Brooklyn” last week, hit the stage and performed a “greatest hits” set that featured just about every one of his hits from the last 10 years.
Of course, Migos were also in the building to bring some C U L T U R E. Together, Offset, Quavo and Takeoff turnt up with a flurry of favorites, including their biggest hit to date “Bad and Boujee.”
Overall, the show played up to how concert series’ promoter and host Loose Cannon Slim described it. “‘314 Day’ is an underground holiday in St. Louis where we celebrate our city and our culture, by showing love to everything ST Louis,” he shared. “After this, nobody will be able to dial the 314 area code and not think about this day.”
Mission accomplished.
