Friends and family of the Notorious B.I.G. Are in full agreement. If the late great musical legend were today, he’d be yelling “Brooklyn We Did It!”

Biggie was honored in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY tonight during halftime of The Nets Vs Knicks game at the Barclays center. Diddy, Big’s mother Voletta Wallace, his daughter and son T’Yanna and CJ Wallace, His widow Faith Evans, Lil Kim, Damion D-Roc Butler, his best friend, and Biggie’s managers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts all stood together center court for a short but touching ceremony.

“We are humbled and honored to be here,” Diddy said addressing the crowd. “This week was the 20th anniversary of the greatest rapper of all-time, Notorious B.I.G. From Brooklyn, New York. From Brooklyn, New York! We celebrate and his passing…Tonight is ‘Biggie Night.’ Usually we do a moment of silence. But in honor of Biggie being from Brooklyn– He always said ‘spread love is the Brooklyn way’–I would like to get 10 seconds of Brooklyn noise.”

The spectators gave a fitting, raucous ovation. Then, up above, the Nets unveiled Big’s retired jersey, an honor usually bestowed to Hall of Fame caliber sports athletes. The late King of New York’s jersey number was 72, the year he was born.

After the ceremony Ms Wallace told Revolt TV exclusively she had no idea they would be retiring Biggie’s jersey, but it was obviously a welcomed surprise. Ice Cube was also attendance with his guest, former New York Knick great Charles Oakley.
