Rick Ross released a ton of information last night as he revealed his ninth opus Rather You Than Me to the music industry. As he does with all his album release parties, the Boss trumpeted his upcoming project (due March 17) in grand, unique fashion. Ricky Rozay teamed up with superstar artist Mr. Brainwash for a pop-up shop they called “Boss Basel.”
Located in lower Manhattan, the venue became Ross’ own art gallery as a huge mural of himself and all the collaborators featured on the LP covered one wall. Photos of the rapper by himself, with Mr. Brainwash, as well as with some of Brainwash’s abstract stylings blanketed the other walls.
As for Rather You Than Me‘s guests, Nas headlines the cast which includes Ty Dolla $ign, Def Loaf, Jeezy, Future, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, newest MMG MC Scrilla, MMG stalwarts Wale and Meek Mill, and singers Anthony Hamilton and Raphael Saadiq along with Chris Rock.
Rock was among those who came out to the industry-invited “Boss Basel,” as was Young M.A., and Rozay family members Wale, Scrilla, Meek Mill and the Dream Chasers. REVOLT TV’s own Hannah Rad spun MMG classics until Sam Sneak took over the DJing duties and played Rather You Than Me for the crowd.
