Twenty years after his death, the Notorious B.I.G. is being honored by his best friend Sean “Diddy” Combs who took to social media today (March 9) to reminisce on the late legend. In a video posted to Instagram, Diddy talked about the influence Biggie had on the lives of those around him and the pain that remains after his passing.
“This year is more of a sobering year, it’s 20 years. For us, we lived 20 years of our lives without somebody that has been a big part of our lives, that has basically been responsible for the legend of our careers. He’s fed a lot of families, made a lot of people dance, made a lot of people feel good. On this day, we’re gonna reflect on him ’cause we miss him. Twenty years later, time heals all wounds, but this wound ain’t healed yet. I just wanna thank all the fans, everybody praying, we love ya’ll. Ms. Wallace, the kids, Faith.”
On a lighter note, Diddy has encouraged fans to join him in celebrating B.I.G.’s legacy by recording themselves rapping their favorite verses from the lyricist which he’ll then compile into a special project. Be sure to tag your skills with #WeMissYouBIG.
