For a moment this weekend, fans believed that Drake’s More Life album—which was promised to be released last December before being pushed back to “early 2017″—was going to finally drop.
The reason? On Friday, while overseas on his Boy Meets World tour, Drake posted a photo of a note to Instagram that read “Om du över sätter det här är det försent,” which translates from Swedish to “If you’re reading/translating this, it’s too late,” a nod to his 2015 mixtape of the same name.
He then signed and dated the note “March 4, 2017” and added the phrase “More Life” which could have led fans to believe that the album was finally going to be released that day.
Drake later deleted the photo though to likely clear up the confusion.
His longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib then confirmed that he was still working on More Life when he took to his own Instagram account to promote his “long time brother” Ziggy’s new restaurant.
Shebib wrote: “Zig I’ll be there asap just got to finish More Life.”
