Fat Joe says he heard album collaborator Remy Ma’s scathing diss to Nicki Minaj “shETHER” a little later than everybody else when it came out on Saturday.
“I woke up like you to my phone ringing a thousand times,” Joe said recently on Chicago radio station WGCI about the frenzy Remy caused with her bars aimed at Nicki.
“I woke up in the morning and I turned that phone on, that thing was lit,” Joe continued. “The phone was ringing so much, I couldn’t listen to the song for two hours.”
Joe refused to go into too much detail about his reaction to “shETHER,” but he did say his sentiment mirrors that of the fans’ which has been overwhelmingly positive towards Rem.
“I feel like what everybody feel on social media. I agree with everybody on social media. That’s it,” Joe said.
When the Bronx legend was asked if agreed Nicki needs to respond soon, Joey Crack answered, “That clock ticking, bro. That clock ticking.” He also said that his partner on the Plata O Plomo LP is planning a solo album, maybe to be released sooner than everyone, even them, expects.
“We got some more coming off [Plato O Plomo] and then we’ll release the Remy solo. The Remy solo is coming faster than we even anticipated,”he said.
Joe also stopped by 92.1 in Chicago and reiterated his support for Remy.
“I’ll leave it between them because it’s two females,” he said of the beef. “That’s my sister and I’m one thousand-, million-percent riding with my sister whether she’s right or wrong. I don’t care. But that’s between them two females and let them do it.”
Joe clarified that the beef with the two queens does not have any negative baring on his close relationship with Lil’ Wayne who heads Nicki’s Young Money camp.
“I’ma put it out there, Lil Wayne is my brother. I love him to death,” Joe declared. “It puts me in a unfortunate position because he’s my brother. It’s never going to be beef between me and him, but it’s just wack, we family. I love him. When I see Lil Wayne, I light up like a baby.”
