Future is well on his way to scoring unprecedented back to back No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200. This week, the self-professed rap astronaut earned his fourth consecutive chart-topper after his self-titled album landed atop the Billboard 200 album chart earning 140,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Feb. 23, according to Nielsen Music.

The achievement gives Future his fourth album to debut in the Billboard penthouse following 2016’s EVOL and the 2015 double-whammy What A Time to Be Alive (with Drake) and DS2.

Future’s ‘FUTURE’: First Thoughts

In addition to notching his fourth chart-topper, it’s likely that Future will add a fifth contender to the list as Billboard reports his second 2017 release, HNDRXX is also expected to top the tally next week. Industry forecasters suggest that HNDRXX is currently projected to move about 100k copies in the first week — this including streams — to give it a possible clear landing at the top of the charts.

In related Future news, a rumor came out today (February 27) about a possible third album from the star releasing this Friday. This came after an episode description for The Ellen DeGeneres Show revealed that Future would be appearing on the show next Thursday (March 2) and noted that he “is attempting to have three #1 albums in a row in three weeks – which will make him the first in history to do that!” Despite the speculation, Future’s manager Anthony Saleh denied the claim on Twitter.

As for Future’s current No. 1, the eponymous release moved about 73,000 units via streams, while the rest of its units were comprised of 60,000 in traditional album sales and 7,000 in track equivalent album units. Coming in at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart is Bruno Mars, whose 24K Magic set peaked at No. 2 with 59,000 units. This is the singer’s fourth nonconsecutive week at No. 2. Rounding out the Top 5 are The Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack at No. 3 with 53,000 units, The Weeknd’s Starboy at No. 4 and Migos’ C U L T U R E at No. 5 with 50,000.
