It was only earlier this month that Chance the Rapper came to the defense of his hometown of Chicago, challenging Donald Trump to assist the city rather than insult it. And now the rapper is taking matters into his own hands.
The rapper took to Twitter to announce that he’d be meeting with Illinois governor Bruce Rauner this week to discuss “funding education.”
Their meeting has been in the works for just a few weeks now as upon Chance winning three Grammys, Rauner shared a tweet declaring that the state of Illinois was “proud” to claim Chano as “one of [their] own.”
Instead of simply accepting the congratulations, Chance took the opportunity to ask Rauner for a sit-down, and the rest is history.
Hopefully Chance keeps us updated as to what transpires.
Yesterday (February 26), Trump hosted 46 governors at his first formal White House dinner, but Rauner refusing to attend the bi-partisan event.
