The Wolf of South Beach himself, DJ E Feezy, was among the throng of DJs that hit New Orleans last week for the 2017 Global Spin Awards. And this year, the four-time nominee has been focused on not just spinning records, but creating them.

His latest single, “Go Crazy,” features Rick Ross, Fabolous, and K. Michelle and, as E Feezy told REVOLT, he’s learning more about the business side of music as he Don Kings major collaborations with big name artists.

“It’s hard,” Feezy said about putting together projects. “When I did my first album [The Wolf of South Beach] with Wayne and Rich Homie Quan and Yo Gotti and all them, it was hard to get them all on one record. But now, since it’s more serious business, I learned how to do the splits and the royalties and all that. It’s really a process. A long process. Once you get the record done, you still gotta shoot the video which is an even longer process. Once it all unfolds, it gets even better. That’s the joy of it, watching it unfold.”

Filming the video for “Go Crazy” almost made E Feezy do just that. He had to catch up with all the song’s co-stars in different cities.

“That was actually crazy; we shot it three different times,” he said about the video. “Ross came down [to Miami], he happened to be in town. We shot him. Then Fab, I caught him at his own pool party. We were supposed to shoot K. Michelle at the BET Awards, she never showed up. I had to fly to Atlanta and go to her house. So when you actually see the video, if you watch the reality TV show [K. Michelle: My Life], you’ll see we actually shot at K Michelle’s house. We got it done, it looks great. It’s a dope video, but it was hard work.”

Feezy is about to do it all over again. His LP is finished and he has his next single almost ready.

“I got a whole album done,” he divulged. “But the next single, it’s a toss-up. I got it done already. It’s Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign, and Torey Lanez. But I might add Bridget Kelly on there, some Jeremih in there. But it’s a real dope R&B record. It’s called ‘Wanna Be Down.’ Trust me, if you thought this was big, I got some more heat. Believe that.”

Besides E. Feezy and some of his other luminaries vying for their respective awards, you’ll also see performances from T.I., Joey Bada$$, and most of No Limit Records reunite.

“‘No Limit’ means every Tuesday we went to the store to cop a CD,” Feezy said about his anticipation of the reunion at the awards show. “I don’t care if it was Mac, Mia X, Mystikal, Silkk The Shocker, TRU, Master P, whatever it was. I was in there every Tuesday. I can’t wait to see all of them. I still play their records to this day.”

The 2017 Global Spin Awards air tonight at 10pm ET on REVOLT.
