Fresh to def in all pink like Brett “Hitman” Hart or Nas in the video for “Street Dreams,” DJ Khaled held a mega press conference at the Beverly Hills Hilton today this afternoon. Holding his son Asahd in his arms, Khaled walked up to the podium and proudly announced his baby heir as the Executive Producer for the project, his tenth, and revealed the title.
“Coming out this year, my best work ever,” Khaled said unflinchingly. “On my mama and on my son and on everything I love! The title is Grateful.”
Just like one of his albums, Khaled’s press conference had mega star power. Jamie Foxx spoke via video message. He said beholding the Khaled experience on social media gave him insight to the DJing mogul’s success.
“A person being able to watch DJ Khaled and peek in on his life and see the love he has for his family, I believe that’s the main reason he rises to the top,” Foxx said.
“I appreciate you. You smart. Today is historic,” Chance the Rapper said as he came to the podium, using a few of Khaled’s catchphrases. He then introduced Diddy.
“It’s an honor to be here and see everybody,” Diddy said, flanked by his sons Justin and Christian, before acknowledging The Weekend and Busta Rhymes sitting in the audience amongst the throng of people.
“The power of believing and power of dreaming. That’s what I always dreamt for, getting the opportunity,” Diddy began to describe.
“I didn’t come up here to congratulate [Khaled] on a year,” Diddy later added. “I’ve been down with him from day one and this thing is not gonna stop.”
Puff also predicted that Grateful would live up to Khaled’s prophecy of being his biggest opus ever.
“I could just manifest right now, this is going to be your most successful album,” Diddy said before he closed out.
Khaled didn’t reveal any collaborators for the project, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that at least some of the people attending the press conference would be involved. Producers Cool and Dre, who were in attendance, are longtime best friends of Khaled and have produced countless records for him. Both Diddy and Busta have appeared on multiple Khaled albums. Khaled has also posted pictures of himself and Chance in the studio together, with Chance in the vocal booth, on his Instagram page. Outside of today’s attendees, there have also been recent photos of Khaled in the lab with Mariah Carey, Migos, Travis Scott, and Justin Bieber. Khaled will be attending the Grammys this weekend where he is up for multiple awards.
