A few years ago, N.O.R.E. attended a rap festival show and instantly became a Run the Jewels fans. “I wasn’t aware of Run the Jewels at the time,” he described after watching the pair rock the stage. “When I seen you brothers and seen what was going on, I said this is something different.” That “something different” is just one of many reasons why Killer Mike and EL-P are hip-hop’s critically beloved pair. They’re rap’s Rock & Sock connection and like the favorable wrestling tag team, the ever-entertaining duo woo heads on each and every occasion — so much so that N.O.R.E. couldn’t help but praise their work on Drink Champs.

“You brother’s cause might be the most important in the industry period,” he praised.

Becoming a baptized RTJ fan after a concert, N.O.R.E.’s sentiments could very well mesh with all the other attendees of the group’s ongoing Run the World Tour. After kicking off the 33-date trek last month, Mike and EL-P sat with Drink Champs’ N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN to discuss the tour and explained how it differs from their previous shows.

“It’s bigger than we’ve ever done,” P expressed. “We’ve never seen it like this.”

Since the announcement, the pair have since updated their itinerary due to high demand. They are set to play larger venues in Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Chicago. After announcing a single date for New York City, RTJ are now slated to perform not one, not two, but four nights at Terminal 5.

“It’s been amazing to witness, like for us, and see the tour blow up like this has been incredible,” he continued. “We’re just giving everything we have. We’re literally doing back to back to back shows.”
