Migos has been having quite the run. It seems that for every success—like being dubbed “The Beatles of our generation” or nabbing the No.1 song and album in the country—there’s a pitfall, like failing to articulate exactly how they’ll use their influence to affect “culture” (in their NYU class of the same name) or failing to comprehend why their fellow Georgia artist iLoveMakonnen would receive support upon coming out as gay.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Quavo admitted that one of the things he loved about Atlanta was its “diversity,” but it seems he’s only referring to variety of a certain sort. When the writer mentions iLoveMakonnen’s recent reveal, there’s an “awkward silence” before Quavo shouts, “Damn, Makonnen!”

And when the writer insists that Makonnen received support for coming out, Quavo seems surprised, saying, “They supported him?”
