One of the highlights of the First Family of Hip-Hop’s first season is getting an up close and personal look at Lady Luck and Somaya Reece.
For quite some time, we’ve seen the two on red carpets and social media together, but during the season, we get to see some of their love story unfold. As Luck told us, Somaya secured a spot in her heart, in part, by winning over her family.
“Fortunately, everybody knows who Somaya Reece is and she looks the way she does. So it wasn’t really a problem with me bringing her home,” Luck said. “Actually, my mom had went to California for job training and [Somaya’s] so smart, she drove three hours out to California to meet my mom, take my mother out to eat. So she put het stake in, put her claim in, before we even got together on this level right here. My family loves her. She’s an amazing person. She has my back more than a lot of people I’ve ever met. You’ll see that on the show. When I do cry, I go home and cry to some nice ‘pillows.’ When I get a little misty, anybody would like to go home and cry to this [woman]. I go home and cry for no reason sometimes; ‘Baby hold me. I so sad. I so sad.’”
Jokes aside, Luck may really need “pillows” for her tears and some sage advice on tonight’s episode. We’ll see Luck and her cousin Lea, who’ve been working on music together, get into some serious quarreling. Also, Raekwon The Chef pops up to mentor Luck’s other cousin Rhondo, an aspiring producer.
First Family of Hip-Hop airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
