Although they’ve never appeared onscreen together, comic legends Mike Epps and Chris Tucker will forever be bound in our minds and hearts.

After Tucker famously refused to reprise his beloved character of “Smokey” for the sequel to Friday, Ice Cube’s budding franchise was in a pickle. But, like a GM whose team lost their star player in the midst of building a dynasty, Cube recruited Epps, a diamond in the rough who caught the Gangsta Rap Godfather’s attention on the comedy club circuit. Epps was so good as the character “Day-Day,” not only was Next Friday a success, but it propelled Cube and company to do a third film Friday After Next.

Fans love all three films, but still the question beckons: how different would the Friday franchise be if Tucker had stayed, and how divine would it be if Cube could get both Tucker and Epps for a fourth Friday? Both Tucker and Epps have gone on to have stellar careers (although fans and journalists have always called on Tucker to be more active) and we here at REVOLT have given you an official breakdown of the two.
