Soulja Boy is set to drop a new album called Draco, but an actual draco could soon land the rapper in jail.

The rapper, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was charged today (January 23) with illegally possessing firearms following a December 15 arrest. According to the Los Angeles County D.A.’s office, Soulja Boy faces one felony count each of possession of an assault weapon, a Mini Draco AR-IS; unlawful firearm activity: felon in possession of a firearm, Glock 21 .45 caliber; and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property, a Glock 21 handgun. The Mini Draco A5-15, an assault weapon, is illegal for anyone in the state of California to possess.

If convicted, the rapper could face four years in prison.

Arraignment in the case is scheduled to take place today.

The rapper was arrested at his house on December 15 for probation violation after he made threats online brandishing a gun. Police allegedly found him in possession of the firearms, one of which was reportedly stolen from a Huntington Beach police vehicle.

The news adds yet another layer of confusion over his proposed boxing match against Chris Brown, which was purportedly expected to take place in March.
