Despite being painted as a danger to society by a federal prosecutor, hip-hop podcast host Taxstone was granted $500,000 bail today at his arraignment in a Manhattan federal court.
Born Daryl Campbell, he was arrested Monday in connection to last year’s shooting inside New York’s Irving Plaza venue that left rapper Troy Ave shot, three others injured, and his bodyguard Ronald McPhatter dead.

Taxstone was charged with possession of a firearm and transporting/receiving a firearm.
He will be released provided he meet stipulations set by the judge. Upon his release, Taxstone will be placed under house arrest, but will be allowed to leave home to record his popular podcast. Any other work-related trips will have to be approved by the judge. He will appear in court again in February.
