Kodak Black wants to "Knockout" Lil Wayne for 'Best Rapper Alive' title
The Florida rapper is at it again.
Kodak Black knows a thing or two about getting the people going.
Last month, the Florida rapper hailed himself “best rapper alive” and name-checked Lil Wayne in the process. Now, as the year introduces boxing matches headlined by your favorite artists, Kodak takes things further by issuing a challenge to Lil Wayne to hit the squared ring.
“Ay listen here man. Tell Lil Wayne fight me,” says Kodak in the much-talked about clip. “We finna get in the ring, we finna fight — me and Lil Wayne. I’m finna knock that stupid ass ni—a out. And if he whoop me, he the best rapper alive, ya heard me?” If that wasn’t enough, the rapper went as far as telling fans on social media, “Lil Wayne can eat my ass.”
Again, and as we mentioned before, despite his controversial messaging, Kodak is once again, taking a page out of Lil Wayne’s own playbook. In December 2006, Lil Wayne sat with Complex for a cover story and vented his thoughts on Jay Z coming out of retirement during that time. “You left on a good note, and all of the artists were saying, ‘Yo, this is Jay’s house. He’s the best.’ Now he comes back and still thinks it’s his house,” said Wayne, before adding, “It’s not your house anymore, and I’m better than you.” The quoted comment also came a year after Wayne himself hopped on Jae Millz’s “Bring It Back” remix and claimed to be the “best rapper alive since the best rapper retired.”

Kodak’s comment arrives after Wayne was asked about the Florida rapper, as well as Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert and 21 Savage. His response, “I swear to God I didn’t know you were saying people’s names just now, so that should probably answer that question.”
All in all, just like when he dubbed himself “better than 2Pac and Biggie” and later dropped the summer mixtape Lil B.I.G. Pac, Kodak knows what he is doing and this can all be a calculated promotional move. After all, since his return from jail, the rapper has yet to drop a mixtape and has been in the studio working on new material. So there’s a good chance that all of this social media-baiting may result in a full-length project arriving sooner than later.
Albeit, the comments already has the online world buzzing.
As of this writing, it appears 50 Cent is working on making this bout a reality. 2017 remains undefeated.
