If 2016 was the year of Chance the Rapper, then 2017 appears to be carrying spillage from his continuous takeover.

Chance the Rapper and his dad, Ken Bennett, have been appointed to the board of trustees at the DuSable Museum of African-American History in Chicago. The pair were praised by the Smithsonian-affiliated institution for their commitment to community activism. The news was announced in a press release.

The release described Chano as a “champion for promoting racial justice throughout the city and the nation,” especially his work in “actively combating gun violence in Chicago.” In response to the big news, Chance welcomed the opportunity and noted that he has “big plans” for his newly appointed position.
