For the past five years, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V has been at the center of rap conversation for many reasons, some of the which included the fact that it was positioned to be Weezy’s “last album” and, more recently, its force in the Cash Money feud.

It’s a Family Affair: Lil Wayne vs. Cash Money

Other than being the latest album to suffer the mythical Detox treatment, many know Wayne’s C5 has been under drama due to an ongoing legal rift with Birdman and Cash Money Records. The project was slated to arrive in 2014, but was delayed and eventually trapped in contractual limbo. Now, Birdman, who previously blamed Wayne for the delay, is telling fans the wait is almost over and he’s ready to “move forward.”

As a guest on Travis Scott and Chase B’s Beats 1 radio show .wav Radio, Birdman gave a more definitive answer about the album’s status, revealing, “Carter V coming out.” After being asked about the LP and its undeclared release, the Cash Money head went on to say, “It’s definitely coming out. The situation with me and my son, bruh—I’ma put all of that behind us and just let it move forward.”

Birdman’s comments come after Young Money president Mack Maine recently confirmed to REVOLT that Wayne is prepping three projects for 2017, including the much anticipated Tha Carter V, The Funeral, and an opus the public hasn’t heard about before, Velvet“We wanna get that _Carter V _out,” Mack said. “Wayne also has a dope project called Velvet. We want to get that out.” Also on the plate for the team is projects from Drake and Nicki Minaj.
