The Weeknd has fully transformed from anonymity to ubiquity, topping the charts yet again. The title cut from his Dec. 17 album, “Starboy,” has risen to No. 1 after eight weeks posted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It makes the third No. 1 for The Weeknd, and, surprisingly, the first No. 1 for Daft Punk, the track’s producers.

“To be recognized for the hard work my team and I put into ‘Starboy’ is an honor. To be a part of this with Daft Punk is incredible and will be remembered forever,” The Weeknd told Billboard.

Starboy debuted at No. 1, and all 18 of the project’s songs landed on the Hot 100 singles chart, a feat previously accomplished this year by Beyoncé, and later by J. Cole.

And there seems to be magic in the pairing between the Canadian and the French duo: The set’s second single, “I Feel It Coming,” also featuring Daft Punk, rose from No. 33 to No. 25 on the Hot 100. The Weeknd will keep the momentum going into 2017, rolling into a city near you with his Legend of the Fall tour.
