Troy Ave is headed home. Just a little over 24 hours after being shot multiple times by an unknown gunman, the Brooklyn MC was released from the hospital. Late Monday evening, Ave posted footage of himself on Instagram leaving Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn — still in bandages — with a small entourage. He said nothing and entered a black vehicle.
“Shot in my head, shot in my back, God is Great,” he said in the caption. “Ya boi is back. From the bottom of my heart, thank y’all 4 all the prayers. #WhiteChristmas4.”
Earlier on Monday, while still in the hospital, Ave spoke exclusively to REVOLT TV about the Christmas shooting.
“To be honest man, I got a bullet still in my head and another one lodged in my back,” he said. “Words can’t describe how blessed I feel to be here. To all the fans, just ride with ya boy. keep me in prayers and play my music loud.”
On Sunday afternoon, Troy and his girlfriend were visiting family in Flatbush, Brooklyn, when a gunman fired into Troy’s car, striking him in the head, back, and arm. A stranger helped the injured rapper get to the nearby hospital, where he was later visited by 50 Cent. Police have yet to name a suspect in the incident.
Meanwhile, the beat goes on for Ave. Earlier today he released a video for “No Delay,” a track off his aforementioned White Christmas 4.
