A pair of public memorials will be held for late soul singer Sharon Jones, who passed away last month after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 60.
With two celebrations planned, the first event will take place in Brooklyn, New York, on Dec. 14 at the Brown Memorial Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. The second planned service will be in Augusta, Georgia, on Dec. 17 at the Imperial Theater at 1:00 p.m. The memorial services are open to friends, fans and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jones’ honor to: The Lustgarten Foundation, The James Brown Family Foundation and the music charity Little Kids Rock.
