Kodak Black has been released from a South Carolina jail after posting $100,000 bond.

The Pompano Beach rapper was recently extradited to South Carolina to face sexual battery charges for an incident that took place earlier this year. Taking to Instagram, the rapper, born Dieuson Octave, revealed the news of his release via a post showing him smiling as he walks out of a building.

“I’m happy to be finally going back home to my family and friends,” the IG post reads. “I look forward to clearing my name in the very near future. I want to thank God, my family, my team (Vanessa, Phatboy and James McMillan), Atlantic Records, my lawyers and all of my fans for your continuous love and support. I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love most – working at being the illest rapper alive.”

Kodak Black transferred to South Carolina jail to face sexual battery charges

The release for Kodak Black comes after details of the alleged incident was released to the public. According to the arrest warrant, as reported by Sun Sentinel, the 19-year-old rapper, who is being charged with committing sexual battery in a Florence hotel room on (or about) February 7, apparently “forced the victim onto the bed in the room and then onto the floor of the room.” From there, he is alleged to have “removed the victim’s underwear,” assaulted her orally, and then penetrated her without consent. If convicted of the crime, Kodak Black could face up to 30 years in prison.
