The Weeknd's 'M A N I A' is a must-see, 12-minute prelude to 'STARBOY'

Just days away from releasing arguably his biggest album to date, the Weeknd releases a teaser in the form of “MANIA,” a 12-minute film soundtracked by a medley of songs from Starboy.

Visually, the short will absorb viewers right away thanks to brilliant direction by Grant Singer, who is responsible for many of the singer’s featurette-style music videos (“I Can’t Feel My Face,” “Tell Ya Friends”). Throughout the visual, we trace Weeknd’s journey from the highway (“All red Lamb’ just to tease you, ah”🎧) to a dimly-lit nightclub that hosts the cinematic climax, where the singer finds love and experiences a brush with death. Titled “MANIA,” the teaser is soundtracked by the records “All I Know,” “Sidewalks” (sans Kendrick Lamar), “Party Monster,” and “I Feel It Coming.”
