Kanye West was hospitalized on Monday night, according to several authorities who spoke with NBC News. The 39-year-old rapper is currently under observation at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Authorities responded to a medical welfare call at 1:20pm PST and West was hospitalized for “his own health and safety” and transferred to the facility by paramedics. Earlier in the day, his concert promoter Live Nation abruptly cancelled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo Tour without explanation.

To say it’s been a rough several weeks for the rapper would be an understatement.

Following the anniversary of his mother’s death on November 10, he announced his support for President-elect Donald Trump at his tour stop in San Jose last Thursday. He was met with boos, online criticism, and several shoes were thrown in his direction while he performed.

Just two days later, he performed for roughly 30 minutes in Sacramento and called out everyone from Mark Zuckerberg to Beyoncé, declaring that he was on his “Trump shit tonight.”

Kim Kardashian West, the rapper’s wife, was scheduled to appear at the annual Angel Ball in NYC Monday night, US Weekly reports, marking one of her first public appearances since she was robbed at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room. It’s currently unclear if she followed through with the appearance.

A representative for West did not immediately respond to comment.
