DJ Marley Waters and Wyclef Jean perform at Brooklyn Bowl
The two hitmakers offered a night of great music and fun.
DJ Marley Waters brought a crowd out to Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday (November 17) for a great night of music and fun. The producer’s catalogue includes records alongside Chris Brown, Young Thug, Wyclef, Ellie Goulding, Lil Wayne, and more. He dug into his arsenal of hits such as Tinashe’s “2 On,” but DJ Marley has ventured off creating raps for himself as well. He introduced the crowd to a few of his records such as “Wylin” and “Wifey Type.”
After DJ Marley blessed the crowd with his performance, Wyclef Jean made an entertaining entrance with a freestyle about politics and our new president-elect Donald Trump. As a legendary and heavily respected musician in this industry, Wyclef unloaded a great majority of his catalogue onstage. He performed his old school classics such as “911” feat. Mary J. Blige; “Sweetest Girl” feat. Akon, Lil Wayne, and Niia; “Guantanamera”; and “Gone Til November” feat. Canibus. He then hit the crowd with some of the Fugees classics such as “Ready or Not,” “Killing Me Softly,” “Fu-gee-La,” and “No Women, No Cry.” Wyclef and DJ Marley also performed their new record “I Swear,” which features Young Thug.
Before exiting the stage, Wyclef had two more tricks up his sleeve. He performed his new solo record “Hendrix” and put his own spin on a traditional West Indian carnival. He had girls dressed like they were going to j’ouvert onstage and he encouraged the crowd to interact for his final act.
DJ Marley is currently working on his three-part album titled Transitions, a self-reflection on his journey from DJ Genesis to DJ Marley Waters. Wyclef Jean is also working on his forthcoming album, Clefication, which will be on his independent music label Heads Music. The album is set to feature Dj Khaled, Emeli Sandé, Afrojack, and Avicii.
