  /  11.11.2016

A Tribe Called Quest’s final full-length album, their first in 18 years, is real and is finally here.

Titled, We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service, the LP features 16 tracks with a star-studded guest list that includes names like Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Elton John, André 3000, Jack White and Busta Rhymes. Q-Tip announced the release last month and credited the group’s 2015 performance on “The Tonight Show” as the blueprint for the new album.

Phife Dawg, who passed earlier this year, is present throughout the album and in an interview with New York Times, Q-Tip reflected on how difficult it was to deal with the loss during the album’s final sessions. “Sometimes I just have to like take a break and walk away. It gets heavy. It doesn’t necessarily get sad, it just gets heavy,” he explained. “I literally feel the energy from him when I hear his voice.” Tribe’s original members Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White are also present on the album. Not even 12 hours after its arrival, ATCQ fans are already raving about the release, deeming the LP a hit.

A Tribe Called Quest’s final album We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service is available now on iTunes as well as streaming via Apple Music, Spotify and more.

Be sure to catch REVOLT’s “Beats, Rhymes & Phife” special honoring the life of Phife Dawg next weekend, November 19 at 7PM EST.
