Drake cryptically teases looming Kanye West collaboration

Besides teasing a new album and a possible collaboration with Taylor Swift collaboration, Drake is busy adding fuel to another announced effort.

Taking to Instagram, Drizzy posted a photo of himself alongside Kanye West and cryptically captioned it, “There goes the neighborhood.”

The journey to Drake and Kanye West’s mysterious joint album

The random update once again adds fuel to the much-speculated joint album between the two stars. Back in September, Kanye confirmed plans of a collaborative album with Drake and spoke on the project after a cryptic billboard popped up in Los Angeles featuring the logos of their respective labels.

“We’re just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio,” Kanye revealed in an interview with Vogue, without unveiling a title or release date. “We’re working on an album, so there’s some exciting things coming up soon.”

Drake previews ‘More Life’ LP, finds revenge on “Two Birds, One Stone”

Since the announcement, the two rappers have hopped on each other’s releases. Drake has a co-writing credit on Kanye’s “30 Hours” from The Life of Pablo and West originally appeared on “Pop Style” from Views. Most recently, West received a writing credit on Drake’s controversial track “Two Birds, One Stone,” which is set to appear on the rapper’s upcoming album, More Life. The said track earned backlash for its not-so-subliminal dart aimed at former G.O.O.D. Music member Kid Cudi. “You were the man on the moon / Now you just go through your phases / Life of the angry and famous,” raps Drake on the song. As a result, Cudi fired back on Twitter (“Say it to my face”) and Drake’s go-to producer 40 eventually cleared up the confusion behind Ye’s writing and producing credit.

“Me and Kanye produced the track, I made it from some drums he had given me,” 40 told Genius. “Not quite the elaborate story the world is looking for.”

Drama aside, the latest update in the G.O.O.D. and OVO Sound collaborative release once again stirs the pot of anticipation as both stars continue to prep new music. While Drake has More Life, West also has Turbo Grafx 16, the originally intended follow-up to The Life of Pablo. In addition to their respective solo releases, Drake and Ye have other collaborative projects in the works. Drake and Gucci Mane reportedly have a joint release called The 6’ers, while West is busy in the studio with Chance the Rapper cooking up their Good Ass Job.

Where these guys find the time to carve out all this music is anyone’s guess.
