Lil Wayne’s controversial remarks during Tuesday night’s episode of ABC’s “Nightline” sparked a whole lot of chatter this week. “Don’t come at me with that dumb shit, ma’am. My life matter, especially to my bitches,” said Wayne in the interview that has since gone viral.

Conducted by ABC’s Linsey Davis, the interview saw Wayne share his thoughts on Black Lives Matter and why he doesn’t feel connected to the movement. “I don’t know why you put a name on it. It’s not a name. It’s not ‘whatever, whatever.’ It’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a f—ked up reason,” he shared. According to TMZ, Wayne has now apologized for the comments. “Apologies to anyone who was offended,” he reportedly said. The rapper also blamed “Nightline”’s Linsey Davis for questions asked about his daughter, which he said sparked the questionable tone of the interview.

“When the reporter began asking me questions about my daughter being labeled a bitch and a hoe, I got agitated,” he said.

During the interview, Davis asked Wayne, “So, your daughter, would you have any problem with her being called a bitch or a hoe,” Wayne replied, “Yeah, if they calling her a bitch or a hoe, I have a huge problem with that.” According to Wayne’s comments to TMZ, “from there, there was no thought put into her questions and my responses.”
