RZA is finally sharing his version of the fight that broke out between Azealia Banks and his good friend Russell Crowe at the actor’s suite last weekend.

In a detailed Facebook post, the 47-year-old hip-hop icon sided with Crowe, 52, on Thursday and outlined every step of professional and economic help he recently gave to Banks, 25, before blaming her for the altercation. He also said Banks never signed the proposed record deal that she spoke of on social media.

Peace. Normally I don’t respond to negative social media attacks towards me. Yet in this case of Azealia Banks I’m…

RZA stressed that he only knew her in a professional manner and had never spent time with her in a social setting before inviting her to the now-infamous party hosted by Crowe.

Multiple guests who were in attendance previously told TMZ that Banks laughed at Crowe’s music playlist, and when his friends came to his defense, she began acting erratic and started making verbal and physical threats. RZA backed these claims by admitting that he felt embarrassed by Banks’ behavior.

“Verbal abuse can be tolerated but when it goes physical,” he began, “Azealia [threatened] to cut a girl in the face with a glass, then actually grabs a glass and physically attacks for no logical reason.”

“Russell blocked the attack and expelled her from the suite,” he continued in his statement. “Seeing is believing and I saw her behave as an obnoxious erratic individual and in the circles I frequent this was unprecedented. I was totally [puzzled] by her and thought maybe meds or booze or something had her zoned out.”

Shortly after his comments were posted, RZA spoke to TMZ Live and supported Banks’ claims that Crowe did spit on her while removing her from his Beverly Hills hotel. Following the incident, Banks filed a police report of battery on Monday claiming that Crowe assaulted her and called her the “n-word.”

After seeing the TMZ interview late Thursday night, Banks responded with a statement of her own, questioning RZA’s account. “RZA has clearly been given no legal advice and went to straight to [TMZ] out of his feelings to try and gaslight me,” she wrote on Facebook. “Whatever pieces are left of his brain after years and years of smoking dust stupidly allowed him to ramble himself into incriminating his friend, and completely debunking their entire made up theory.”

She also questioned the claims of “erratic” behavior saying she was at the party for five hours, which was long enough for Crowe to tweet a link to her single “The Big Beat” off her Slay Z mixtape.
