When you’re on a roll and can’t be stopped.
After becoming a father earlier this year, having his show Atlanta be renewed for a second season less than halfway through its first, and introducing a new era of music as Childish Gambino, Donald Glover has just gotten more good news.
The actor-musician is confirmed to play a young Lando Calrissian, originally portrayed as an adult by Billy Dee Williams, in an upcoming Star Wars prequel that follows a young Han Solo.
The untitled film will be helmed by Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller who said in a statement:
“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us. These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
