Kameron Corvet is a singer-songwriter who hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, by way of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His instrument of choice is the guitar, which he strums to his own beat to create melodies that conjoin with his lyrical expertise.

His bilingualism surely doesn’t hurt either. Morehouse alum Corvet speaks French fluently and credits it for his attention to detail in his writing. His songwriting capabilities are stellar, as Freddie Jackson, Angie Stone, Avery Sunshine, and Case can attest to. And he has already graced the stage opening for the likes of Adele, Marsha Ambrosius, Bilal, Tamia, and more.

Corvet’s debut independent album Sayingthings was a tight reflection of his talents. He followed his acclaimed EP F*ck Love with his 2014 release Darker Than Gray, and today presents a new single titled “Wish I Could.”

Per Corvet himself, “Wish I Could” is “a vibe about coming to terms with not being able to love someone the way they want to be loved.” The dynamic and intense drum beats, echoing guitar riffs, and lyrics blend to deliver a disheartening message for anyone on the receiving end, but he does it so effortlessly that you kind of forget that you’re being dumped. The single is written by Corvet and Troshia Keaton and produced by Pierre-Medor (Brandy, Usher, Mary J. Blige).
